Meet Dropkick Murphy

Named After the Band

Birthday: 5/10/2011

Murphy was found wandering the streets of San Marcos in early 2025. He was skinny, tired and scared. He came rolling into the shelter in style, on a Harley. A good samaritan found him and dropped him off. The shelter reached out to one of our partner rescues to see if they could help. They immediately thought of Ant’s and reached out. I was on my way to pick him up two days later. Murphy was 14 when he was found and they were concerned about his state of mind in the shelter’s chaotic atmosphere. Murphy loves long walks. He is gentle, sweet and quite spry for an older guy. He is affectionate but is not a fan of being picked up or held. He has some vision issues that might contribute to that fear. He also has limited hearing. Murphy came to us with a mouth full of infected teeth. For now, we are treating him with antibiotics as needed until we can raise the funds for his extensive dental work. This poor guy has some seriously stinky breath. Murphy is also showing signs of pain likely due to arthritis. He will be visiting the vet soon to discuss pain management. All of these things add up. That’s where you come in!  Please help.
