Meet Tala

The Timber Wolf - Husky

Birthday: 6/19/2011

Tala is a beloved permanent resident in our sanctuary. She is a beautiful Timber Wolf/Husky mix. Rescuing this beauty was a real gift. Being a quarter Timber Wolf made her chances at a shelter unfavorable. Tala is quite catlike and aloof but the way she stares adoringly at you melts your heart. She loves walks and one-on-one attention.

She is soulful, spirited and sassy. She lives life on her own terms and Alphas every dog that enters her space. She loves to sing and ‘boof’ but never barks. She loves to get the pack howling and then excuses herself to another room.

Tala was diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma in 2022. She had a mass removed but they were unable to get all of the cancer.  She is on a highly specialized diet, and is taking Chinese herbs and a variety of holistic supplements. About a year ago she began having some mobility issues. She has done rehab using a water treadmill, laser therapy and a tPEMF mat. She currently benefits from acupuncture, gentle chiropractic and massage. These modalities have greatly improved both her mobility and quality of life. She needs these interventions at least once per month, ideally, twice a month. They are incredibly expensive but I have seen the huge difference they have made in her overall well being. This Wolf/Husky mix deserves the very best life has to offer. Please help us continue to provide her the very best care possible.
